FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically multipulse elastography of human body or animal. Method for quantitative measurement of at least one mechanical property of a viscoelastic medium having an ultrasonic signal after ultrasonic illumination comprises the following steps: definition characteristics of at least two low-frequency mechanical impulses, generating said low-frequency mechanical pulses, monitoring propagation of at least two shearing waves generated by the at least two low-frequency mechanical pulses, using means for receiving and emitting an ultrasonic signal in a viscoelastic medium, calculating at least one mechanical property of the viscoelastic medium using means for receiving ultrasonic signals. Apparatus for implementing the method steps comprises an oscillation generator configured to generate a plurality of shearing waves in a viscoelastic medium, and at least one ultrasonic transducer.
EFFECT: use of inventions makes it possible to obtain more accurate and reliable characteristics of an elastic medium by monitoring the propagation of at least two shearing waves within the medium.
