BIODEGRADABLE POLYMER MICROPARTICLE CONTAINING STEROID-BASED DRUG AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61K9/16 A61K31/567 A61K31/573 A61P29/00

Abstract RU 2786452 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to a method for the production of biodegradable polymer microparticles carrying a steroid drug, including stages, at which: (a) a mixture of the steroid drug and biodegradable polymer based on composite polyester, taken in amount of 1-25 wt./vol.%, is dissolved in an organic solvent to obtain a solution containing the steroid drug and biodegradable polymer based on composite polyester, while the specified mixture contains the steroid drug and biodegradable polymer based on composite polyester in the weight ratio from 1:99 to 3:7; (b) the solution containing the steroid drug and biodegradable polymer based on composite polyester is sprayed into a solution of C5-10 hydrocarbon, which is kept at a temperature lower than a melting point of the organic solvent, to form microparticles; (c) microparticles are added to an aqueous salt solution to dissolve and remove the organic solvent; and (d) microparticles, from which the organic solvent was removed, are desalinated. In this case, the organic solvent is dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), C5-10 hydrocarbon at the stage (b) is at least one selected from a group consisting of pentane, hexane, heptane, octane, nonane, decane, and petroleum ether; the aqueous salt solution at the stage (c) is 5-30 wt./vol.% of NaCl or CaCl2 solution in water, and biodegradable polymer based on composite polyester is poly-(D,L-lactic-glycolic acid) (PLGA).

EFFECT: present invention provides obtainment of microparticles carrying a steroid drug with long-term release, which have excellent biocompatibility, biodegradability, porosity, and mechanical strength.
