FIELD: oil industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil industry, in particular to methods for studying deposits formed in oilfield equipment. The invention relates to a method for the quantitative determination of high molecular weight naphthenic acids (WNA) from deposits of oilfield equipment. The sediment sample is washed with a hot toluene solution, the precipitate is dried, weighed, treated with hydrochloric acid and a mixture of toluene-diethyl ether and the organic fraction containing the secreted acids is separated, the residue is extracted again with diethyl ether, the organic fractions are combined and evaporated to dryness on a rotary evaporator, to the residue after evaporation, a mixture of dry methanol and methanol saturated with HCl vapor is added and refluxed for 1 hour, the reaction is stopped by adding water and the methyl esters of high molecular weight naphthenic acids are extracted with diethyl ether, the ether fraction is evaporated on a rotary evaporator, the residue is dissolved in hexane, then chromatographic separation is carried out on silica gel using hexane as eluent, hexane is evaporated, the residue is weighted, the result is multiplied by a correction factor of 0.94 and calculate the content of WNA in the original sample.
EFFECT: fast, not requiring expensive equipment method for the quantitative determination of WNA in samples of deposits formed during the oil refining process.
