FIELD: petroleum industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of petroleum refining, in particular, to a method for producing highly anisotropic petroleum needle coke by delayed coking. The method is implemented using decantoil as a source material. The method includes the stage of forming secondary raw materials, followed by heating said materials to the coking temperature and coking in coke chambers, resulting in needle coke and coking distillate. The materials are then supplied to the bottom of the distillation column for fractioning, resulting in hydrocarbon gas, gasoline, light and heavy coking gas oil and still bottoms, steaming the coke with water vapour and cooling with water, supplying the products of steaming and cooling into an absorber equipped with mass transfer apparatus for absorption of high-boiling petroleum products and separation of the products of steaming and cooling in the absorber into the vapour and liquid phases, wherein the decantoil is mixed with the still bottoms of the distillation column. The resulting mixture is then heated to a temperature of 400 to 450 °C, supplied to a thermal polycondensation reactor and subjected therein to thermal polycondensation for 1.0 to 1.5 hours under a pressure from 5 to 10 kg/cm2. The thermal polycondensation bottoms are then removed from the thermal polycondensation reactor and mixed with heavy coking gas oil to form secondary raw materials at a 1:(0.3–0.9) ratio.

EFFECT: higher yield of needle coke with a simultaneous improvement in the structural organisation thereof.
