SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for accelerating biochemical processes by microorganisms and can be used in various fields of biotechnological synthesis. The proposed method for carbohydrate fermentation includes sowing a pure culture of Escherichia coli on a sterile nutrient medium, into which a weighed portion of lithium succinate powder in the amount of 5-20 mmol/dm3 is added before sterilization, then incubation is carried out. Accounting for fermentation is carried out by changing the color of the culture medium and by changing the pH. If glucose is fermented, then Clark's medium is used as a nutrient medium. If the carbohydrate is lactose or sorbitol, then Hiss medium is used as a nutrient medium.

EFFECT: creation of a method for the fermentation of carbohydrates by Escherichia coli bacteria, which makes it possible to accelerate the fermentation process and carry out its quantitative accounting.
