FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines. The method for reducing the period of delayed combustion is carried out in a diesel engine with a power supply system, including a fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel filters, the main fuel supply system, an intake manifold and combustion chambers. The method consists in the fact that lower alcohols are fed into the fuel tank together with the fuel to obtain a single mixture. Or lower alcohols are fed into the combustion chambers of a diesel engine using a dual fuel supply system operating in parallel with the main fuel supply system. Or lower alcohols are fed into the inlet pipeline by spraying.
EFFECT: reducing the period of slow burning in diesel.
