FIELD: communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of communication and, in particular, to processing of topology of an optical network. Using a device for processing of topology, the first local image is received, collected from an optical distribution network (hereinafter – ODN), wherein the first local image includes at least visualization of the first port of the first ODN device, the first port is connected to the first cable, on the first cable, there is the first identification area used for identification of the first cable, and the first local image includes at least visualization of the first identification area on the first cable. Using the device for processing of topology, the first cable is determined based on the first identification area on the first local image, and the first port connected to the first cable is determined based on the first local image. Using the device for processing of topology, the first compliance between the first ODN device, the first port, and the first cable is generated.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of control of ODN device due to that resources in an optical distribution network are sorted simply, quickly, automatically, and reliably.
