SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tools for reporting on a beam failure of a secondary cell (SCell) and to a data storage medium. A beam failure in a first secondary cell (SCell) is determined by user equipment (UE). A target service cell for transmitting a report message to the base station is determined, wherein the report message is configured to notify the base station of the occurrence of a beam failure in the first secondary cell (SCell). The report message is transmitted to the target service cell, wherein the report message contains the cell identifier of the first SCell and the indication information to indicate that a beam failure occurs. The configuration information for measuring the beam and a report on the first SCell are received from the base station. The beam is measured based on said configuration information and a report on the candidate beam obtained in the course of said measurement is issued, wherein the candidate beam is used by the base station to update the beam configuration of the first SCell.
