FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of transport engineering. A method for determining the static stability of vehicles, which consists in the fact that the vehicle is installed on a horizontal platform with the possibility of inclination. Sensors are installed under each wheel, which measure the forces of the normal reaction of the supporting surface and, according to the data obtained, the distances on the supporting surface are determined from the projection point of the center of mass along the normals to the projection lines of the front and rear axles on the same plane, as well as the distances to the lines passing through the centers of the contact patches formed on the supporting surface by the left and right wheels, respectively. The site is tilted. The angle of inclination and the values of the forces of normal reactions of the supporting surface under each wheel are measured. According to the data obtained, the height of the center of mass is determined along the normal to the supporting surface. According to the results of the obtained distances, the angles of the static stability of the vehicle in the longitudinal and transverse directions are determined.
EFFECT: invention provides the ability to test the vehicle at minimum angles of inclination.
