SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of biofuels, specifically to a method for purifying fatty acid esters from an alkaline homogeneous catalyst, which includes evaporating the residual amount of monohydric alcohol contained in an amount of 10 to 20 wt.% from fatty acid esters, washing the evaporation residue with water and isolating esters fatty acids by drying, characterized in that the evaporation of a mixture of C16-C22 fatty acid esters is carried out at normal atmospheric pressure and a temperature of 55 to 70 ° C for 4 to 6 hours, carbon dioxide is bubbled with a gas flow rate of 20 to 40 ml/s at a temperature of 25 to 50°C for 5 to 10 minutes, then washed with distilled water at a temperature of 35 to 40°C for at least 2 hours with a flow rate of 1.7 to 5.4 ml/min to obtain a purified mixture of fatty acid esters containing sodium, potassium or a mixture of not more than 5 ppm and washing water containing carbonates and bicarbonates of alkali metals, which is subjected to sorption cleaning and return to the process.
EFFECT: increasing the degree of purification of fatty acid esters from an alkaline catalyst.
