FIELD: aluminum coatings.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for applying an aluminum coating to organic glass and can be used to obtain protected mirror surfaces in sheet and molded products from organic glass. The method for deposition of an aluminum coating on products made of organic glass is characterized by deposition of a coating that contains layers of aluminum and a transparent dielectric formed during sputtering of an aluminum target. Prior to coating, samples of products from organic glass are heated together with a protective film on a melting table to a temperature of 130-160°C, then the product is cooled and the protective film is removed, after which a layer of aluminum is deposited. A wire is used as a source of aluminum during spraying, then an alkyd-based primer layer is applied, over which a transparent dielectric in the form of a UV-curable varnish is applied.
EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of applying an aluminum coating on organic glass in a technologically simpler way and using available materials.
