FIELD: viruses and microorganisms inactivation devices.
SUBSTANCE: device for the inactivation of viruses and microorganisms in the air stream is designed to decontaminate the air from the pathogenic microflora contained in it by the action of uniform and inhomogeneous constant electric fields. The device contains a high-voltage power source (4), at least five porous electrodes (1, 6) installed in series along the air flow in the form of air-permeable conductive porous plates located across the flow (A), and highly porous dielectric plates (2) installed between them. ), while the electrodes (1, 6) are connected to a high-voltage power source (4) so that they have alternating polarity. Part of the porous electrodes (1) are located in pairs, in each of which there are at least two highly porous dielectric plates (2) between them, which are adjacent to each other, so that when the device is operating, a zone is formed between the porous electrodes (1) in each of their pairs with a uniform intensity of a constant electric field. One of these pairs is located first along the air flow, and the other is the last, and between the pairs of porous electrodes there are single porous electrodes (6) and at least one double-edged needle electrode (3) located parallel to the direction of the air flow, the sharp ends of which are directed towards opposite sides. The specified at least one needle electrode (3) and one of the nearby porous electrodes (1, 6) are electrically connected to each other, so that during operation of the device between the porous electrodes (1, 6) and the needle electrodes (3) zones with non-uniform intensity are formed constant electric field.
EFFECT: increase in reliability inactivation of any types of viruses and microorganisms with minimal release of harmful substances into the air and exclusion of the accumulation of living microorganisms inside the device.
