METHOD FOR ENDOSCOPIC DRAINAGE OF POSTER SECTIONS OF BOTH LATERAL VENTRICLES Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B17/16 A61B17/94 A61M25/01

Abstract RU 2789524 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurosurgery. A soft tissue incision is made in the area of the ventricular catheter installation. A soft tissue incision is made in the area of installation of the ventricular catheter. the edges of the incision are diluted. A burr hole is made in the bones of the skull. An incision is made in the dura mater. Then the introducer is introduced through the brain parenchyma into the posterior part of the ipsilateral lateral ventricle. The endoscope is inserted through the introducer. The posterior half of the transparent septum is perforated. The introducer is advanced through the perforation window into the posterior section of the contralateral lateral ventricle. Side holes are formed on the walls of the ventricular catheter. A ventricular catheter with a mandrel is inserted along the introducer into the posterior section of the contralateral lateral ventricle. The mandrel is removed. The position of the ventricular catheter is modeled so that it does not rest against the pathological focus or the walls of the ventricle. The endoscope and introducer are removed. The outer end of the ventricular catheter is fixed and the wound is closed.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the efficiency of drainage of the lateral ventricles in cases of bilateral obstruction of their anterior sections.
