FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to hematology, and is intended for the determination of hyperdiploidy in the bone marrow aspirate of tumor plasma cells in multiple myeloma (MM). The method includes preparation of a compound for a FISH study from bone marrow aspirate in MM patients and identification of at least 11% of cell nuclei with a diameter of ≥11.2 mcm with a morphometric assessment of 100 or more nuclei. The presence of the specified content of nuclei with a diameter of ≥11.2 in the prepared compound makes it possible to exceed the threshold level for a positive result with approximately 94% specificity.
EFFECT: invention provides the development of a simple and cost-effective method for determining hyperdiploidy and provides testing for the presence of hyperdiploidy and high-risk cytogenetic abnormalities in one study.
