FIELD: cooling device.
SUBSTANCE: cooling device (10) for cooling a flat metal product (S) placed in a substantially vertical path of ascending and descending movement of the specified product , contains a container filled with coolant, while the said container contains at least two openings, one on the top surface and one on the bottom surface, through which said flat metal product goes, and the specified hole on the lower surface is provided with sealing means; two rows of coolant injection devices having at least one outlet, immersed in the specified cooling medium, facing each other and placed on each side of the said path of the product, wherein said coolant injection devices are at least partially immersed in said coolant, moreover, any two devices successively located vertically one after the other for injecting a coolant from a number of such devices are separated by a gap, wherein each row of coolant injection devices comprises the topmost coolant injection device defined as the coolant injection device closest to the surface of the coolant, and at least the uppermost coolant injection devices located on both sides of the product path are located with an inclination downwards with respect to the horizontal plane, at an angle within 20° to 40°.
EFFECT: improved uniformity of cooling across the bandwidth.
