SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiology and clinical laboratory diagnostics, and can be used to diagnose metastatic pericarditis by chemical microscopic analysis of pericardial effusion. The concentration of the total protein of the pericardial effusion, the concentration of the total protein of the blood serum are determined in the patient. The protein gradient is calculated as the ratio of the total protein of the pericardial effusion to the serum protein. If the concentration of total protein in the pericardial effusion is 30.0 g/l or more, and the value of the protein gradient is 0.5 or more, then metastatic pericarditis is diagnosed. If the value of the total protein concentration of the pericardial effusion is less than 30.0 g/l and the value of the protein gradient is less than 0.5, then the absence of metastatic pericarditis is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method enables reliable diagnosis of metastatic pericarditis with simplicity, availability of research that does not require a long time, unique reagents and devices, by determining the concentrations of the total protein of the pericardial effusion and the total protein of the blood serum.
