METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF RISK OF DEVELOPING POSTPERICARDIOTOMY SYNDROME FOLLOWING VALVE REPLACEMENT IN COMPLETE BYPASS Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC G01N33/48 G01N33/68

Abstract RU 2472152 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: substance of the method for prediction of a risk of developing postpericardiotomy syndrome (PPTS) following valve replacement in complete bypass consists in the fact that the patients expecting a valve replacement surgery is examined for preoperative blood serum cystatin C. If blood serum cystatin C is more than 5.45 mg/l, potential developing postpericardiotomy syndrome is stated. Prediction accuracy makes 88.9%, specificity of the method - 72.9% in reliable (p<0.014) grouping of the patients.

EFFECT: higher prediction accuracy.
