FIELD: welding technology.
SUBSTANCE: electrode can be used for manual arc welding of parts made of dissimilar steels, for example, in the manufacture of tanks, containers and pipelines for storing and moving aggressive liquids. The electrode contains a coated steel rod, the composition of which provides welding of the steel from which the first of the parts is made, and a coated steel rod, the composition of which provides welding of the steel from which the second part is made. Each of the electrode rods along the entire length is freed from the coating on a quarter of its surface, while they are installed parallel to each other with touching adjacent surfaces free of coating, and fastened with copper brackets.
EFFECT: electrode is oriented with the placement of each rod on the side of the corresponding part for which it is intended for welding, and provides joint melting of the rods to obtain a weld with an average chemical composition compared to the composition of the parts being welded.
