FIELD: welding technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce welded joints from carbon ferrite-pearlite steels with stainless austenitic steels using manual arc welding, in particular, when connecting containers and pipelines for storing and moving aggressive liquids, liquid mineral fertilizers, and petroleum products. The composite electrode contains two electrodes fastened together with adhesive tape and in contact with each other along the entire length of the electrode with a coating removed along the line of their contact. The composition of one of the electrodes ensures welding of structural steels, and the composition of the other - welding of stainless steels. A copper insert is located between the electrodes along the line of their contact.
EFFECT: composite welding electrode provides the ability to alloy welds during electric arc welding of dissimilar steels to obtain a defect-free weld.
