FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the mining industry in terms of measures for forming man-made containers. The objective of the invention is to create waterproofing in order to provide the possibility of storing solid mineral processing waste while increasing the environmental efficiency of mining enterprises. The technical task consists in preventing the migration of polluting substances into the layers of the lithosphere and hydrosphere, improving the waterproofing properties of the engineering protection system, and reducing the costs of work for forming anti-filtration screens applied in the creation of a man-made container. Method includes the stage of creating an anti-filtration screen formed directly during the construction of the embankment. Loose overburden rocks are used to build the clay anti-filtration screen; the clay screen is formed in one or two layers. On the slope of the embankment, the clay screen is formed by pushing the rock from the top down with a bulldozer as the height thereof increases, followed by compacting with a vibratory roller; and on the surface of the bed, the clay screen is formed by moving loose overburden rocks over the entire area and compacting with a vibratory roller to achieve the required coefficient of loose rocks filtration not above 0.001 m/day. The two-layer clay screen is formed of two layers of clay, wherein a drainage layer is provided between said two layers.

EFFECT: improved waterproofing properties of the engineering protection system for a man-made container and prevented environmental pollution; lower material consumption due to the creation of anti-filtration screens from associated loose overburden rocks of the developed deposit; the area of disturbed lands occupied by mining facilities in the process of comprehensive development of a section of earth interior is also reduced, which is achieved by the order and sequence of the actions in mining, refuse dumping, and forming a man-made container.
