FIELD: communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to random access. A random access signal and the first information used for the result of random access competition are sent to a network device, while the random access signal is used to request for random access. A tracking window is launched or re-launched in the first symbol after transmission or retransmission of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). The first response and the second response are tracked in the tracking window, while the first response is a response to the random access signal, the second response is a response to the first information used for the result of random access competition, and the tracking window is used for tracking both the first response and the second response. It is determined, whether random access is successful.
EFFECT: reduction in delays for increasing transmission efficiency, when two different responses are tracked during a random access procedure.
