SUBSTANCE: capsule and cooking chamber assembly for a beverage preparation device. The cooking chamber (3) consists of a first part (7) of the cooking chamber, including a cavity (10) for the capsule (5), and knives (11) for piercing the capsule (5). The aluminium body (15) of the capsule has the shape of a truncated cone and consists of a lower part (20), a side wall (21), a flange (22) and a cover for closing the capsule (5). The flange (22) is designed to be held between the first and second parts (7, 8) of the cooking chamber to provide a seal integrated with the rim of the parts (7, 8) of the cooking chamber. The lower part (20) includes an inclined section (35) of the wall at an angle to the longitudinal axis through the capsule (5) and is configured to be combined with knives (11) that come into contact with it when the cooking chamber (3) is closed.

EFFECT: self-centring of the capsule inside the cooking chamber is provided when the cooking chamber is closed, including in the absence of special centring elements in the walls of the cooking chamber.
