FIELD: researching quasiisentropic compressibility of gases in the megabar pressure range.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to researching quasiisentropic compressibility of gases in the megabar pressure range. A spherical-shaped device for researching the compressibility of gases in the megabar pressure range containing an explosive charge embracing a double-cascade metal chamber with gas inflation cavities via a coaxial pipeline running through the charge and the chamber, each cascade comprising two interconnected half-shells is disclosed, wherein the double cascade chamber contains a tungsten alloy inner shell, which is less thick than the outer shell and is surrounded by a caprolon damping shell, which is also a fastening element of the inner cascade in the outer cascade cascade cavity, wherein the cascades half-shells are interconnected by laser welding in a vacuum.
EFFECT: invention provides for extending the functionality of the device for researching the compressibility of gases by extending the range of thermodynamic pressures realised in the device gas cavity during maximum compression while maintaining the gas cavity dimensions during maximum compression.
