FIELD: audio processing computing
SUBSTANCE: decoding the bitstream signal as a pre-temporal audio signal according to a coding mode selected from a plurality of coding modes, wherein the multiple encoding modes include at least the first encoding mode that includes a post-filtering step and at least the second encoding mode that does not include a post-filtering step, moreover, at the post-filtering stage, a tone enhancement filter is applied to the preliminary temporal sound signal to obtain a temporal sound signal, wherein the post-filtering step is selectively skipped in response to post-filtering information encoded in the bitstream signal, wherein the post-filtering information indicates a decision on the encoder side whether or not to skip the post-filtering step according to which the post-filtering step is selectively skipped in the first encoding mode, moreover, the post-filtering stage also includes the attenuation of noise located in the troughs of the spectrum.
EFFECT: improving the fidelity of digital audio reproduction.
