FIELD: poultry farming.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to poultry farming, in particular to quail operation. Male quail selecting method that provides for completing the quail flocks involves selecting quail at the beginning of moulting. The male quail selection is performed before the onset of sexual maturity in the period of 18-21 days of quil life by the beginning of juvenile moulting, which is determined by the 1st order 1st wing quill falling out.
EFFECT: invention ensures accurate early selection of male quail to complete a productive parent flock.
