A part of said plant is disclosed; an isolated polynucleotide or an isolated polypeptide, which the specified plant contains, RNAi construct, double-stranded RNA containing the specified polynucleotide. Also disclosed are the use of plant material in a tobacco product or smoking article; application of a herbal product in a tobacco product or smoking article; application of a tobacco product in a smoking article; a method for obtaining plant material from the specified plant; a method for identifying a molecule that provides modulation of the expression of a TFL1 polynucleotide or the activity of a TFL1 polypeptide in the specified plant.
EFFECT: effective reduction of the time period until flowering in a transgenic plant.
