FIELD: gas shielding devices; welding of metals.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a gas shielding device, a laser welding head and a laser welding system, which can be used in welding of titanium or other metals that are highly reactive towards gases in air. The gas shield device (600) comprises a protective plate (620) attached to the neck (610) in such a way that the neck extends from the first side (621) of the protective plate (620). The protective plate (620) runs in a circle around the central hole and contains a number of gas outlets (624) on the second side (623) opposite to the first side (621). A number of gas outlets (624) is fluidly connected to at least one gas inlet, which is located on the first side (621) of the protective plate, and is configured to direct the gas flow to the surface of the workpiece at a plurality of points. The protective plate (620) includes a gas diffusion region (626) that fluidly connects to at least one gas inlet (622) to a number of gas outlets (624). The gas protection device is attached to the laser processing head and arranged coaxially to provide a greater shielding effect in all welding directions.
EFFECT: ensuring diffusion and distribution of the shielding gas over a larger gas shield zone to protect a larger metal area. The gas shielding device provides effective gas shielding over a wider area around the laser processing zone, which is particularly advantageous when welding with a rocking motion of the laser beam for materials that are sensitive or reactive towards oxygen or nitrogen.
