FIELD: rotational friction welding.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to double-sided rotational friction welding and production of cold-rolled steel strip and coated steel strip using said welding. Two rotating tools are pressed against the butt section or overlapping section of the steel strips and moved in the direction of welding while rotating in opposite directions to each other. The area softened by the heat of friction is agitated with rotating tools to obtain a plastic flow and ensure that the steel strips are welded to each other. The end part of each of the two rotating tools has the shape of a round convex or concave curved surface. The height of said convex surface or the depth of the concave surface is chosen depending on the diameter of the end part of the tool. The end parts of the tool are made of a harder material than steel strips.

EFFECT: increase in the durability of a rotating tool while suppressing the occurrence of defects in the welded area.
