FIELD: gastroenterology.
SUBSTANCE: used in practical public health to determine the possibility of enhancing gastric motility with drinking mineral water. The method for evaluating the prokinetic action of drinking mineral waters includes measuring the concentration of motilin in the blood on an empty stomach and after taking 200 ml of the studied drinking mineral water at room temperature. An increase in the initial value of the concentration of motilin by 5% or more after taking mineral water indicates its prokinetic effect on a given person, an increase of less than 5%, a decrease or lack of dynamics in the concentration of motilin indicates the absence of a prokinetic effect.
EFFECT: proposed method for assessing the prokinetic effect of drinking mineral waters is easy to use, provides an objective assessment of the effect of drinking balneotherapy on gastric motility, does not require special expensive equipment not provided by health institutions.
