FIELD: medical science.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to gastroenterology and functional diagnostics, and can be used for diagnosing a version of functional dyspepsia. Peripheral electrogastroenterography is performed on an empty stomach for 40 minutes using Gastroscan-GEM apparatus. Then the person being tested drinks 200 ml of non-carbonated drinking water of room temperature. That is followed by another 40-minute peripheral electrogastroenterography. If the relation of gastric electrical activity to duodenal electrical activity increases, postprandial distress syndrome is diagnosed, while the decrease shows epigastric pain syndrome.
EFFECT: method enables detecting the specific disturbed gastric motility accompanying a standard drinking load and prescribing a pathogenetically grounded treatment ensured by a set of techniques of the declared invention.
