SUBSTANCE: each tire (4, A, B, C) is provided with a corresponding RFID tag (5, 5A, 5B, 5C) storing a unique identifier of the indicated tire (4, A, B, C). The method comprises the following: an antenna (2) installed above or next to the conveyor belt (3) and configured to radiate radio frequency signals towards the coverage area (21) on the conveyor belt (3) and receive backscattered radio frequency signals from this area (21) coverage; and a reader (6) connected to the antenna (2) to control the latter during transmission and reception. The method includes applying an innovative pre-calibration step to the reader (6) and then performing a read and/or write stage while the calibrated reader (6) is operating.
EFFECT: increase in the performance of reading, detecting RFID tags.
