FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to ophthalmology. Optical coherence tomography is performed, determining the variability — deviation of the value of the central retinal thickness from the initial value. Additionally, fluctuation is determined as the length of the perpendicular line drawn from the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) layer to the inner boundary membrane in the foveal zone and in the parafoveal zone; the variability and the fluctuation are determined in the course of treatment. If the value of variability is 452 mcm or more, fluctuation in the central zone of 208.5 or more, in the parafoveal zone of 285 or more, risk of subretinal fibrosis is predicted.
EFFECT: possibility of controlling the effectiveness of anti-VEGF therapy and correcting the mode of treatment depending on the values of variability and fluctuation in the foveal and parafoveal zones.
