FIELD: optical measurements.
SUBSTANCE: fiber-optic devices for measuring angular rate using sensors with the Sagnac effect. The fiber-optic angular rate sensor contains a laser radiation source, a sensitive element with two inputs/outputs, and a signal processing unit with two photodetectors. Each input/output assembly is connected to a radiation source and its own photodetector. In this case, the sensitive element is implemented as two counter-directional Sagnac interferometers, each of which operates on the basis of the same two fiber-optic coils, closed to each other, wound in series at least partially around a common axis.
EFFECT: accuracy of measuring the angular rate by compensating for the drift of the fiber-optic sensing element.
