SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical measurements, specifically to devices based on an interferometer for measuring angular velocity using the Sagnac effect. Photonic ARS on a ring optical resonator comprises a Sagnac effect sensitive element on a ring optical resonator, a radiation source, a signal processing unit with a photodetector at the input, a Y-type beam splitter, an interference device, two 2×2 optical dividers having two inputs and two outputs. Output of the radiation source is connected to the input of the Y-type beam splitter, which by its outputs is connected to two inputs of the first optical splitter 2×2. Two outputs of the first optical divider are connected to a ring optical resonator, which is connected to two inputs of the second optical divider 2×2, two outputs of which are connected to two inputs of the interference device. Interference device output is connected to the processing unit photodetector input, wherein the processing unit is connected by the first output to the interference device, and the second output of the processing unit is the output of the ARS with the measurement results.
EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring angular velocity.
