SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the persistence of pain syndrome for more than three months with severity in VAS > 5 cm after total hip arthroplasty in patients with osteoarthritis. Such indicators as the presence of the following concomitant diseases: hypertension of the third stage, coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, bronchial asthma, varicose veins of the lower extremities with thrombosis are determined. The intake of glucocorticosteroids, the duration of the underlying disease, the value of ESR, serum potassium, GFR, blood fibrinogen, activated partial thromboplastin time, the presence of concentric hypertrophy of the left ventricle are also taken into account. Each sign, if any, is assigned 1 point, the coefficient k is calculated. At k equal to 5 points or more, a risk of a long-term — over three months of pain syndrome in the postoperative period is determined as high, and at k equal to 4 points or less, a risk of pain syndrome is determined as moderate.

EFFECT: method allows to reduce the risk of chronic postoperative pain in patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty, by assessing the totality of the most significant indicators.
