SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline transportation of oil and gas; it can be used for mechanical protection of underground pipelines at crossings over water barriers. A device for protection and fixation of a pipeline includes protective shell 2 hung on the pipeline, having an open lower part. Protective shell 2 is made of a steel pipe cut along the axis, it has edges mechanically diverged to sides from a cut line for a value sufficient for free passage of protected pipeline 1, and it contains centering semirings 4 on an inner surface, excluding a mechanical and electrical contact between the pipeline and the protective shell. The device contains corner support elements 3 containing mounting holes and fixation means – anchors 8.

EFFECT: provision of protection of a pipeline from external mechanical impacts, increase in a degree of fixation of the pipeline in the ground, as well as simplification of mounting works.
