CARTRIDGE ASSEMBLY WITH ACTIVATED PIERCING ELEMENT FOR AEROSOL GENERATING SYSTEM AND AEROSOL GENERATING SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A24F40/42

Abstract RU 2793852 C2

FIELD: aerosol generating systems.

SUBSTANCE: device includes a cartridge with a first compartment extending along the longitudinal axis, containing an aerosol-generating compound and sealed at the first end with the help of the first fragile partition, passing in the corresponding plane, transverse to the longitudinal axis, the first piercing element, configured to pierce the first fragile partition. The first piercing element contains the first piercing body, the cross-sectional area of which is at least 40 percent of the cross-sectional area of one compartment, and the first channel passing parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cartridge through the first piercing body and having an inlet and an outlet. The first piercing element is movable along the longitudinal axis from the first position to the second position. When the first piercing element is in the first position, the first piercing body is removed from the plane of the first fragile partition. When the first piercing element is in the second position, the first piercing body passes into the compartment through the plane of the first fragile partition, and the compartment is in fluid communication with the inlet and outlet of the first channel. The cartridge assembly has a second piercing element configured to pierce the second fragile partition and containing a second piercing body, the cross-sectional area of which is at least 40 percent of the compartment cross-sectional area, and a second channel extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cartridge through the second piercing body and having an inlet and an outlet. The second piercing element is configured to move along the longitudinal axis from the first position to the second position, and when it is in the first position, the second piercing body is removed from the plane of the second fragile partition. When the second piercing element is in the second position, the second piercing body passes into the compartment through the plane of the second fragile partition, and it is in fluid communication with the inlet and outlet of the second channel.

EFFECT: increase of shelf life, decrease of the frequency of blocking of the air flow.
