FIELD: analytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: methods for the luminescent determination of terbium. The method includes the conversion of terbium into a luminescent complex compound with organic reagent (R) nolicin in ratios Tb:R=1:1 at pH=5.9±0.1, the luminescence intensity of the complexes at λ=545 nm. The lower limit of detection of terbium with nolicin after sorption concentration on the AB-17 sorbent is 4.7⋅10–9 g/ml of Tb. In this case, the determination of terbium is carried out from solutions of lanthanide chlorides. To obtain lanthanide chlorides, lanthanide oxides are preliminarily calcined for one hour in a muffle furnace at a temperature of 650-700°C and cooled in a desiccator. Next, a portion of lanthanide oxides, according to the calculations of their concentrations, is treated with hydrochloric acid and H2O2. Then the solution is evaporated, then, the dry residue of rare earth elements is dissolved in distilled water.
EFFECT: reduction of the detection limit, increasing the stability, sensitivity and selectivity of the luminescent method for the determination of terbium.
