FIELD: communication; drilling.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to means of communication in horizontal directional drilling. A transmitter for use in combination with a system of horizontal directional drilling, containing a drill column extending from a drilling rig to a tool submerged in the ground, serving as a support for the transmitter, contains an antenna, one or more sensors for generating sensor data. An antenna driver for the electrical excitation of the antenna is designed to emit a depth signal in response to an input depth driver signal for aboveground reception for use in determining the depth of the specified instrument submerged in the ground. The antenna driver is designed for the electrical excitation of the antenna in response to the input driver data signal in order to emit at least one data signal characterizing sensor data using at least one frequency of the data signal, which is higher in frequency than that of the depth signal, for the aboveground isolation of the specified sensor data. The processor is made with the possibility of generating the specified input depth driver signal at the frequency of the depth signal and with the possibility of generating the specified input driver data signal characterizing the specified sensor data to control the transmission power of the depth signal relatively to the transmission power of the data signal, so that one receiving range of the specified depth signal corresponds to another different receiving range of the specified data signal. Options of a system of horizontal drilling, a portable device as part of the system of horizontal directional drilling are claimed.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of passive interference suppression during directional drilling by balancing the transmission power between the depth signal and the data signal.
