FIELD: aerosol-generating systems.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a mouthpiece for an aerosol-generating article, an aerosol-generating system, and a method for assembling the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece for an aerosol generating article is formed from at least two main parts that are axially inserted into each other to create an aerosol flow path. The two main parts are movable in the axial direction relative to each other between the first assembled position and the second assembled position. The mouthpiece additionally contains an activatable element for modifying characteristics of the aerosol upon activation, while moving the two main parts from the first assembled position to the second assembled position, the activatable element is activated. The mouthpiece further comprises an inlet end configured to guide an aerosol flow into the mouthpiece and an outlet end configured to discharge an aerosol flow from the mouthpiece, wherein the aerosol flow path extends between the inlet end and the outlet end. The mouthpiece is designed in such a way that the direction of the aerosol flow is reversed at least once between the inlet end and the outlet end, while the activated element is held in place by clamping in the mouthpiece.
EFFECT: improved cooling and homogenization of the aerosol inside the mouthpiece for the aerosol generating article.
