FIELD: smoking accessories.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the tobacco industry, in particular to devices simulating the tobacco smoking process. Aerosol-generating device comprises an aerosol-generating element comprising a main part and a reservoir for accommodating a cartridge containing an aerosol-forming substrate. Device comprises a vessel having a liquid filling level and defining an outlet hole of the free space above the liquid filling level. Device includes tube for transfer of air flow from reservoir into vessel and cover made with possibility of engagement with main part. Cover comprises a frame containing a cavity and having a central axis. Cavity is made to accommodate the cartridge. Gripping element is configured to release the cartridge placed in the reservoir. Aerosol-generating system comprises an aerosol-generating device and a cartridge recycling device comprising a recycling vessel with an opening and a cartridge release member designed to be coupled with the cap gripping member to activate the cartridge release. To implement the method of inserting and releasing the cartridge from the aerosol-generating device, the cartridge is inserted into the reservoir of the aerosol-generating element. Cover is placed on the aerosol-generating element so that the cartridge is gripped by the gripping element. Cover is pushed towards the reservoir to release the cover from the aerosol-generating element. Cover is removed from the aerosol-generating element, and the gripping element is brought into contact with the cartridge release element, providing the cartridge release from the gripping element. Disclosed is a method of inserting and releasing a cartridge from an aerosol generating system.

EFFECT: increased safety of using the device by eliminating the possibility of contact with a hot cartridge.
