FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for sealing air gaps in cable products with plastic and rubber insulation. It is achieved by pre-fabricating on extrusion equipment an insulating cord, round in cross section, from non-vulcanized silicone rubber, including semi-conductive and flame retardant, then the insulating cord is talced and fed to the twisting line in the center of the cable between insulated conductive cores, while the insulated cores are compressed during twisting and press the insulating cord into the central gaps between the insulated cores.
EFFECT: increasing the longitudinal tightness to limit combustible substances along the cable.
