FIELD: medicine; cardiology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for early non-invasive diagnosis of stenosing atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries during diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography. An ultrasonic matrix high-frequency sensor is placed in the lumen of the esophagus in anatomical proximity to the wall of the descending thoracic aorta. A transverse greyscale section of the descending thoracic aorta is obtained outside the zone of atherosclerotic plaques, in which the global circular deformation of the aortic wall is determined using 2D speckle-tracking technology. If the value of the global circular deformation of the aortic wall is 4.05% or less, stenosing atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries is diagnosed.
EFFECT: proposed method provides early non-invasive diagnosis of stenosing atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries by using the index of global circular deformation of the wall of the descending thoracic aorta as a marker.
