FIELD: creating pulsed pressure.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technique of creating pulsed pressure by means of electrical explosion of a conductor to form a short-term shock wave with a high pressure amplitude and can be used to test cone-shaped specimens for strength to pulsed surface impact. Essence: the device contains a capacitor bank for creating a current flowing through an exploding metal foil and generating a mechanical pressure pulse. The metal foil is placed on the side surface of the cone half and dielectric wings. The maximum width of the wings is selected from the ratio where h1 is the maximum width of the dielectric wing, r1 is the radius of the lower base of the truncated cone, r2 is the radius of the upper base of the truncated cone,π is a number equal to 3.14.
EFFECT: obtaining uniform amplitude distribution of the generated mechanical impulse on the conical surfaces of the loaded sample.
