SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical instruments, in particular to a rotary mechanism and a surgical stapler. The swivel mechanism used for the surgical stapler comprises a swivel component, a swivel rod, and a housing. The outer surface of the rotary component has at least one first interacting element. The rotary rod is configured to interact with the rotary component to ensure that the rotary rod moves in the axial direction of the stapler when the rotary component is rotated. The housing has a receiving cavity for accommodating the rotary component. The inner side of the receiving cavity has at least one second interacting element. The first interacting element is elastic and contains a convex part, and the second interacting element has a recess. The outer surface of the rotary component has at least one elastic plate, between the two ends of which a convex part is formed. The two ends of the elastic plate are attached to the rotary component. Or the first interacting element has a recess, and the second interacting element is elastic and contains a convex part. The inner side of the receiving cavity has a fixing component and at least one elastic plate, between the two ends of which a convex part is formed. The two ends of the elastic plate are attached to the locking component. The convex part and the recess are made with the possibility of interaction by insertion, when the rotary component is rotated relative to the housing to a position in which the convex part faces the recess. When separating the first interacting element from the second interacting element under the action of an external force, the convex part is deformed. The surgical stapling apparatus contains the above rotary mechanism.
