Method for controlling the flow of gas separated from a pulp suspension of medium consistency, which is processed in a pulp processing device so that it is pumped through at least a first pump and a second pump for increasing the pressure of the pulp, the gas is separated from the pulp in the second pump, while the separated gas flow is released into the degassing channel, the pressure difference is determined between the inlet of the second pump and the degassing channel, and the value of the pressure difference is maintained in a predetermined range by means of a degassing valve connected to the degassing channel, the separated gas is fed into the pressure degassing vessel located downstream of the degassing valve and connected to the degassing pipeline, the overpressure in the pressurized degassing vessel is maintained by means of a pressure control valve located downstream of the vessel to reduce the amount of gas flow.
EFFECT: invention ensures stable operation of a pump for pumping medium-consistency cellulose suspensions.
