FIELD: aerosol-generating devices.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol-generating devices and a method of its use. The aerosol-generating devices (1) comprises an aerosol-generating substrate (2) and a first main surface (1a) which is flat. Aerosol-generating substrate (2) forming an aerosol contains the first region (20) having the first density and the second region (21) having the second density. The first density is different from the second density. The article (1) is adapted to be inserted, in use, into the heating chamber of an aerosol generating device.
EFFECT: it is possible to control the transfer of thermal energy into the product, the extraction of volatile compounds from the product and the resistance to tightening of the product due to the possibility of choosing the location, size and relative density of regions with different density values.
