FIELD: medicine; urology.

SUBSTANCE: assess the patient's complaints according to the IPSS scale, determine the nature of hyperplasia in digital rectal examination. Determine level of total testosterone in blood serum by ELISA before treatment. If irritative symptoms predominate over obstructive ones according to IPSS scale, dense consistency of the PG is revealed at digital rectal examination and the level of total testosterone in the blood serum is below 12.1 nmol/L, the patient is prescribed hormonal therapy. If obstructive symptoms predominate over irritative ones according to IPSS scale, tight elastic consistency of the PG is revealed at digital rectal examination and the level of total testosterone in the blood serum is above 12.1 nmol/L, the patient is prescribed alpha-adrenoblocker therapy.

EFFECT: method allows to determine the treatment strategy for lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia against the background of testosterone deficiency, which allows to increase the efficiency of treatment of patients with this nosology, provides personalized approach for choosing the optimal treatment for diseases of the genitourinary system, which reduces the unreasonable drug burden on the patient and increases the effectiveness of treatment, thereby improving the quality of life of the patient.
