FIELD: aerosol generating systems.
SUBSTANCE: electrical system comprises a heating element for heating the aerosol-forming substrate, a power source for supplying power to the heating element, a temperature sensor for measuring the temperature on the heating element, an electrical circuit connected to the heating element, a sensor and a power source. The electrical circuit contains a memory device and is configured to regulate the power supply to the heating element based on the measured temperature, determining an unfavourable condition when the decrease in power supplied to the heating element required to achieve or maintain a set temperature during successive heating cycles goes beyond the set range, by comparing the minimum power supplied to the heating element in this heating cycle, with the power supplied in one or more of the previous heating cycles, while the specified range is stored in the memory device; and controlling power supplied to the heating element is based on whether an adverse condition is present or providing an indication if an adverse condition is present. The heating element is in a removable cartridge containing an aerosol-forming liquid substrate.
EFFECT: possibility of detection of unfavourable conditions at early stages of their occurrence with greater independence from environmental conditions is ensured.
