FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an electrical aerosol-generating system for arranging an aerosol-generating substrate, comprising a liquid storage portion for storing a liquid aerosol-generating substrate; an electric heater comprising at least one heating element for heating the liquid aerosol-forming substrate; and an electrical circuit configured to self-activate the electric heater at a specific moment in time for self-activation within the inactivity period of the electric heater in order to determine the consumption of the liquid aerosol-forming substrate based on the ratio between the power supplied to the heating element, and resultant temperature change of heating element. Present invention also relates to a method for self-activation of electric heater at a certain moment in time for self-activation within inactivity period of electric heater and to determination of consumption of liquid aerosol-forming substrate heated by electric heater, based on ratio between power supplied to heating element and resulting change of temperature of heating element.
EFFECT: present invention also relates to an electrical circuit which is configured to implement said method, and a computer-readable recording medium.
